Ghost Rider is a supernatural antihero appearing in Marvel Comics, with the first iteration debuting in Marvel Spotlight #5 (August 1972). While the initial version featured stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze bonded with the demon Zarathos, the name "Ghost Rider" has been adopted by several different characters, each with unique origins and powers related to demonic or divine forces.

Johnny Blaze, perhaps the most well-known Ghost Rider, made a deal with Mephisto to save his adopted father's life. This pact resulted in Blaze being bound to Zarathos, transforming him into a flaming-skulled spirit of vengeance. He possesses superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to manipulate hellfire, often riding a fiery motorcycle. His mission is to punish the wicked and protect the innocent.

Robbie Reyes is another notable character taking on the mantle. He is a young mechanic from East Los Angeles who becomes imbued with the spirit of Eli Morrow, a vengeful ghost, after encountering a mysterious car. This Ghost Rider, unlike previous versions, drives a powerful muscle car and is associated with a different type of vengeance, often targeting more grounded, gang-related threats.
